The Weight of Stillness

This work comes from direct observation of nature. By using the impasto technique I try to give a sense of being in nature. Applying thick paint on the canvas turns the work from a flat image into a physical object, which helps the viewer feel the light and the presence of nature. My goal is to show the stillness of a place through thick paint textures.
